Karli & Raylen’s Spring Missouri Backyard Wedding

Mark my words, I will always have a soft spot for backyard weddings. Something about the sentimentality combined with the freedom to format your day however you please really speaks to me. And the best part is when the timeline becomes a suggestion and the day just flows and unfolds. Some of my favorite photographs I’ve ever taken are from these types of days. This particular backyard wedding took place in my hometown of Southeast Missouri in the early spring. Our town had been hit by several tornadoes that season, with many trees down and roofs torn, yet Karli & Raylen managed to create the sweetest, most detail-filled celebration. Karli thought of every detail down to personalized matchboxes, green wedding shoes, swans adorning the cake, and tables filled with unique florals and fruit. The evening ended with friends and family laughing and chatting down one long table stretching down their driveway, before the couple drove off in their vintage getaway car with a “just married” sign swinging from the back.
